CVE-2004-0646 describes a critical buffer overflow vulnerability in the WriteToLog function of JRun 3.0 through 4.0 web server connectors, including mod_jrun and mod_jrun20 for Apache, when verbose logging is enabled. This flaw allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by sending a specially crafted, long HTTP header Content-Type field or other fields. With a CVSS score of 10.0, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no authentication required, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
