CVE-2004-0155 describes a critical vulnerability in the KAME IKE Daemon Racoon where the software fails to verify RSA signature authentication during Phase 1 X.509 certificate validation. This flaw allows remote attackers to establish unauthorized IP connections or perform man-in-the-middle attacks using a valid, trusted X.509 certificate. With a CVSS score of 7.5, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, potentially leading to partial compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
