CVE-2003-1578 describes an Inverse Lookup Log Corruption (ILLC) vulnerability affecting Sun ONE (iPlanet) Web Server versions 4.1 through SP12 and 6.0 through SP5. When DNS resolution is enabled for client IPs, remote attackers can manipulate log-preview functionality by sending crafted DNS responses with a "format=" substring in the domain name, effectively hiding HTTP requests from logs. This vulnerability has a CVSS score of 4.3 (medium severity), indicating network accessibility, medium attack complexity, and a partial impact on integrity (I:P). There is no evidence of active exploitation, publicly available exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
