CVE-2002-1368

35
FAUCET Score

CVE-2002-1368 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) versions 1.1.14 through 1.1.17, affecting Apple macOS and Easy Software Products CUPS installations. This flaw allows remote attackers to crash the CUPS server, and potentially execute arbitrary code, by manipulating HTTP requests with negative Content-Length or chunked transfer encoding values, leading to negative arguments in memcpy() calls. With a CVSS score of 7.5, it is considered highly severe due to its network-based attack vector, low attack complexity, and potential for partial confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact. While there is no evidence of active exploitation or KEV listing, a public exploit (EDB-22106) exists, though community discussion and media coverage are minimal.
