CVE-2002-0453 describes a vulnerability in Oblix NetPoint 5.2 and earlier where the account lockout mechanism only triggers once per lockout period. This flaw allows remote attackers to conduct persistent brute-force password guessing attacks by simply waiting for the lockout period to expire before attempting more guesses. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, potentially leading to unauthorized access, information disclosure, and denial of service. There is no known public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB) or evidence of active exploitation, and it has received no community discussion or media coverage.
