CVE-2002-0152 describes a buffer overflow vulnerability in several Microsoft applications for Macintosh, including Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, Entourage, PowerPoint, and Excel. This flaw allows remote attackers to trigger a denial of service or execute arbitrary code by supplying a malformed file:// directive with an excessive number of slash characters. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, potentially leading to partial confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts.
