CVE-2001-1100 describes a critical vulnerability in W3Mail 1.0.2's sendmessage.cgi, and potentially other CGI programs, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. This is achieved by injecting shell metacharacters into any field of the 'Compose Message' page. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to potential compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
