CVE-2001-0913 describes a format string vulnerability in Network Solutions Rwhoisd version 1.5.7.2 and earlier. This flaw allows remote attackers to corrupt memory and potentially execute arbitrary code by sending a crafted rwhois request containing format specifiers, particularly when syslog is in use. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no authentication required, leading to potential compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
