CVE-2001-0618 describes a critical vulnerability in the Lucent Orinoco RG-1000 wireless Residential Gateway. This flaw allows a remote attacker to easily determine the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) encryption key by observing the network's SSID, as the last five digits of the SSID are used as the default WEP key. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), this vulnerability has a low attack complexity and requires no authentication, enabling an attacker to decrypt network traffic and potentially compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
