29
FAUCET Score

CVE-2001-0002 describes a critical vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and earlier, as well as Microsoft Windows Script Host. This flaw allows remote attackers to determine the physical location of cached content and open it within the Local Computer Zone. By leveraging compiled HTML help (.chm) files, an attacker can then execute arbitrary programs on the victim's system. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, potentially leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its age and high severity, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
