CVE-1999-0003 is a critical buffer overflow vulnerability located in the Tooltalk database server (rpc.ttdbserverd) that affects legacy Unix-based systems from vendors such as HP, IBM, SGI, and Sun. With a maximum CVSS score of 10.0, this flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges via a low-complexity network vector. Although historical proof-of-concept code is available in ExploitDB and the vulnerability retains a high EPSS score, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation in the wild or recent community discussion.
